I’m now going to swimming practice with my mom twice a week. We are going to the public pool around the corner from my school. As you can see it’s very big and not many people are coming at this time of the day. I usually practice freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. I like it a lot even though the water is pretty cold.
On Saturday 18.February the Down Syndrome Association Pretoria invited us teenagers for a Valentine’s Dance. It was so much fun and my brother Kai also came with. He was also dancing.
Some of us first got together in a room at the stadium. We were selected to be the participants for the South African Video for ‘World Down Syndrome Day’. We rehearsed for a few minutes and then the camera rolled.
Today we meet at the Pilditch stadium for the Tshwane Athletics Games. I competed in long jump, shot put, 800m walk, 100m sprint and 200m sprint. It was fun and I did very well again.
I also like to mingle with people I don’t know and so I tend to make new friends. My mom also says that strange people come to her and greet her because they recognize us from another event.
